FAQs about Seasonal World’s Pool Opening & Closing Packages

Question:

What is included with a Standard Pool Opening Package?

Answer:

The scope and cost of a Standard Pool Opening Only service from Seasonal World generally includes the following: The removal and folding of the existing pool cover. Following the removal of the cover Seasonal World will take out all of the existing plugs and gizmos used for the winter months and replace them with the pool’s existing directional nozzles. All existing skimmer, pump, and ADR baskets (where applicable) will be put back into place. The filter equipment will be restarted and checked for leaks. All existing handrails, ladders, and diving boards (where applicable) will be put back into place. After the pool is operational, both a preventative algaecide and a super shock will be added to the water to begin the chemical process and aid water clarity. The chemicals added by Seasonal World are for startup purposes only. Seasonal World highly recommends that the swimming pool water is tested within a 48-hour period and the chemical balance process is started to insure all levels are at the correct range. All chemicals that are added are for Chlorine-based systems. An additional charge of $40.00 will be applied to swimming pools that are setup on a NON-Chlorine based system. It will be the responsibility of the homeowner or the property owner to inform Seasonal World, in writing, if NON-Chlorine chemicals are required.

It is important to note that a Standard Pool Opening Only service from Seasonal World is typically defined as a two-person team that can perform the above work in 30 minutes or less of onsite time. The typical swimming pool that falls within this scope and cost of work is generally constructed with a single pump and filter and does not include any raised beams or walls, water features, spa features or any other special features that would require attention at the time of the opening service.

If you feel that the nature of your swimming pool is outside the scope of what has been defined by Seasonal World for a Standard Pool Opening service and may be subject to additional charges, please read the FAQ entitled “What Is Defined As a Standard Pool?”.

Question:

What is defined as a Standard Pool?

Answer:

Within the context of a pool opening and/or closing service, Seasonal World defines a “Standard Pool” as follows: An inground swimming pool that is constructed with a single pump and filter and does not include any raised beams or walls, water features, spa features or any other special features that would require attention at the time of the opening or closing service. It is further defined that a standard pool opening and closing service from Seasonal World is typically a two-person team that can perform the scope of the standard service work in 30 minutes or less of onsite time for each specific service.

Due to the varying nature of swimming pools that Seasonal World has either built or previously worked and the most up to date information that Seasonal World has concerning the swimming pool and its associated features, all pricing is subject to change from the standard pricing at the sole discretion of Seasonal World. In most cases this will come in the form of an additional labor charge that is added to each respective service provided by Seasonal World based on most current information Seasonal World has concerning the swimming pool.

Swimming pools that typically fall outside the scope of a standard pool can be generally defined as having one or more of the following attributes associated with it: greater than 999 square feet in total water surface area, distance from Seasonal World’s Clarksburg location is greater than 45 minutes of driving time, has multiple pumps, has multiple filters, has additional equipment that requires additional time that the service is performed (examples include, but are not limited to air blower(s), UV system(s), mineral system(s) and infloor cleaning system(s) larger than six zones), has water feature(s), has spa feature(s), has a water bag style cover, requires additional manpower and/or additional onsite time outside the 30 minutes or less included with each specific service from Seasonal World, the swimming pool requires the application of additional chemicals, and any other special feature(s) that would require attention at the time of the opening or closing service.

Please understand that we continually review swimming pools either built or previously worked on by Seasonal World to make sure that they are classified as accurately as possible based on the defined criteria. Our online scheduling system will adjust pricing for most of the swimming pools that Seasonal Word has accurate information on. Please note that the event pricing is not adjusted by our online system or upon a phoned in request, pricing is still subject to change at time of the services being rendered if the scope of work falls outside the defined standards.

If you feel that the nature of your swimming pool may be subject to additional charges or Seasonal World does not have updated specific information about your swimming pool on file, please contact Seasonal World’s Service Department at 609-259-8330 during normal business hours to discuss this further and avoid any interruptions at the time of any services being rendered.
